Political leader killed in accident

A conservative political leader was killed in a motor vehicle accident Wednesday in northeastern Iowa. Authorities say a 1000-gallon plastic water tank fell off a truck and hit the following car being driven by 57-year-old Leroy Corey of Cedar Falls. He was a lawyer, longtime G-O-P activist & publisher of a monthly conservative news magazine. Charges are pending against the truck driver, a Minnesotan. A passenger in the car was hurt.
