Casino shut down over misplaced paperwork

November 19, 1999 By admin

A Sioux City riverboat/casino was shut down by law officers for a short time this morning. John Pavone (pah-VONE) is the general manager of the Belle of Sioux City.He says the Woodbury County Sheriff’s Department shut down the casino until officers could find a bond required in a court case that is on appeal. Pavone says it was a mix-up in paperwork. The customers were asked to leave the boat while officers looked for the bond. The whole thing took about 30 minutes.
