Iowa loses to Maryland

Iowa lost at Maryland last night, 83 to 65. The Terrapins raced out to a ten-nothing lead. Iowa Coach Steve Alford says his Hawks need to work on their defense.And Alford wasn’t happy with the team’s offense, either.Alford says his young players have to “turn the switch.” He says he may have to rein in the playes more and not give them as much freedom to shoot.Alford says he needs leaders to step up on the floor.Kyle Galloway had a shiner, but was able to score 18 points, including four three-pointers.Galloway says the team was playing hard.Iowa hosts Texas Southern Friday night in its own tournament.
