Group seeks funding for "Quality of Life" projects in state

December 7, 1999 By admin

The Coalition for Brighter Communities is holding meetings across Iowa as it looks to build support. Spokesman Bill Menner says the group is made up of communities, individuals and organizations who are concerned about how the state can support more “quality of life” projects, such as performing arts centers, theatres, and restoration projects.Menner says many quality of life projects get funding from private sources but in most cases, it’s not enough. He says the group hopes state legislators will listen to their concerns when the session begins next month. The group held its latest meeting Monday night in Mason City.
