Court rules against health card provider

December 20, 1999 By admin

A Des Moines company which alledgedly sold fraudulent discount cards for medical services has been ordered to pay 10-thousand dollars back to Iowans. Bob Brammer, a spokesman for Iowa’s Attorney General, says customers spent hundreds of dollars for the cards from American Discount Services without getting much benefit.Brammer says the company has agreed to stop selling cards that don’t actually carry the benefits advertised. He says the company often targeted older Iowans. Brammer says these type of discount cards pop now and then and you should be cautious of them.A Polk County district court judge made the ruling against American Discount Services.
