Dog food recalled

December 23, 1999 By admin

An Iowa-made dog food may be contaminated enough to kill dogs that eat it, and the product’s being recalled. Golden Sun Feeds of Estherville is recalling its “D-V-M Nutri-Balance High Protein” dog food in 50-pound bags. A spokesman says it’s made for and sold by Tri-States Veterinary Supply in Sioux City.Golden Sun Feeds spokesman Layne Anderson says the store has customers in northwestern Iowa, northeastern Nebraska and southeastern South Dakota. He says the dog food may be contaminated with high levels of Vitamin-D.Anderson says the dog food may cause respiration and kidney failure in dogs, resulting in death. He says the bags in question are easy to identify as they have the code number 264 E-9 or the product code 5-2-6-P.
