Clues Found in Jailbreak

December 28, 1999 By admin

Authorities are a step closer to finding John Gaines — the inmate who allegedly stole a patrol car and escaped from the Audubon County jail Sunday. The wrecked patrol car was found in Dallas County near Grimes on Monday, wrapped around two trees. Both airbags were deployed and there was blood inside the car and on a tree. Both weapons were still inside the car. Gaines was convicted on meth charges earlier this month & was awaiting sentencing.
