American Cancer Society chapters in Iowa and New Hampshire are launching an effort today that aims to nail down presidential candidates for a stance on the killer disease. Organizers of “The Campaign Against Cancer” say it’s a call to action for anyone whose life has been touched by cancer.Threase Harms is state advocacy director for the Iowa chapter of the American Cancer Society. She says it’s a valid and vital issue that deserves attention from the men who want to lead our country.Harms hopes to enlist people across Iowa to ask the candidates what they’ll do to move closer to a cure for cancer. A study estimates one out of every two-hundred Iowans will be diagnosed with cancer this year.
