January 27, 2000 By admin

Northern Iowa lost a heartbreaker on the road in overtime last night to Creighton 77-73. The Panthers trailed by eight at the half, but rallied to send the game into overtime. Creighton outscored UNI 13 to 9 in the overtime to come away with the win. UNI Coach Sam Weaver was frustrated by the loss saying it was one of those things that just didn’t happen. He felt his team should have won without going to overtime.Weaver says, looking at the stat sheet, it’s hard to see how they lost.UNI drops to 4-4 in the Missouri Valley and 11-7 overall.
