February is heart month

February 3, 2000 By admin

While many people associate red hearts with February, there’s another reason to think of hearts besides Valentine’s Day. This is American Heart Month and the Iowa chapter of the American Heart Association is launching a series of events statewide designed to improve survival rates after cardiac arrest.Iowa chapter spokeswoman Karen Meinders says educational and fundraising events are planned all across Iowa throughout February. She says there will be mass-C-P-R training events held in Davenport, Cedar Rapids and Des Moines. For more information about any of the events or the heart, call your local chapter of the Heart Association office or: 877-AHA-4-CPR.
