Students in Clinton face tighter security

Clinton High School students had to show identification cards to police officers to get into school Thursday and Friday following an incident Wednesday morning. Two non-students assaulted a truant student outside the building. The incident ended in the lunchroom as high school staff took away a baseball bat and knife from the two. Clinton Police Chief Gene Beinke says officers will be on normal patrol this weekend:The two non-students were arrested at the scene on Wednesday. The events started last Friday evening when the truant student was thrown out of a non-school party in Clinton. He later returned with some friends and they broke one persons legs and injured another person. The truant student, 17-year-old Jesse Kyseth, in now in jail because of the incident from last Friday. Clinton police have arrested 8 people in connection with the incident and more arrests are expected.
