The much-discussed Patients Bill of Rights entered a conference committee meeting this morning as differences in the House & Senate versions of the bill are ironed out. Senator Tom Harkin is the only Iowan on the committee and called for the meeting in November. Harkin says “American families have been sitting in the waiting room for this legislation for too long.”Harkin says all Americans should be able to enjoy the health care benefits that members of Congress already have.Harkin says the House version of the bill provides strong protections to patients against H-M-Os.
