Trees offered to help stop errosion

February 24, 2000 By admin

The State Forest Nursery in Ames is teaming up with the Department of Natural Resources to offer landowners a special package of trees and shrubs to plant along waterways. Forestor Jerry Grebasch says the 800 trees and shrubs will help prevent soil runoff. He says trees also provide refuge for animals. The streamside tree package is available for two-hundred-85 dollars. Grebasch says the state nursery’s involvement allows them to offer the trees at a reasonable price. To order, call the State Forest Nursery toll-free at 800-865-2477.Or visit their website at: www.state.ia.us/forestry
