Student charged in bomb threat

March 2, 2000 By admin

Police have arrested a 15-year old student at Northeast High School in Goose Lake for allegedly making a bomb threat. Police say Chad Varner threatened to blow up the school in an e-mail he sent to school administrators Monday. Police says Varner threatened in the e-mail to walk into the school with the bomb strapped to his chest if they searched the building for bombs. Varner is being held in a juvenile detention center until an assessment can be done to determine if he should be released to his parents.
