Casino employee arrested in allegeded gambling scam

An employee of the Ameristar Casino in Council Bluffs and a customer have been charged with stealing nearly 30-thousand dollars in a craps game. 50-year-old Timothy Green of Council Bluffs had been working at a craps table since the casino opened in 1994. 44-year-old Robert DeMaris of Mason City was a customer February 17th when the alleged theft occured. Both men are charged with first degree theft and cheating at a gambling table. Green was fired and faces a May 16th trial. A trial date hasn’t been set for DeMaris. If found guilty, each of the men could face up to 10 years in prison and fines as high as 15-thousand dollars.
