Tourney hits semifinals

This afternoon at the girls state basketball tournament, it is the semifinal round in class 2-A.Ninth-ranked North Cedar pulled away from a four-point halftime lead to down eighth-ranked Harmony 52-36 and advance to the 2-A title game. Foul trouble plagued Harmony the entire game, as leading scorer Wendy Christy fouled out midway through the fourth quarter with 14 points and Kylee Zane fouled out early in the fourth with two points, eight below her average. North Cedar coach Mike Bixler says early foul trouble for Harmony’s Wendy Christy helped set the tone.Bixler says his team has handled the tournament pressure to this point.Harmony Coach Brad Sprague says with Wendy Christy and Kylee Zane in foul trouble, his team struggled.
