Stock market rise raises eyes

March 17, 2000 By admin

Iowa stock traders are still blinking after watching yesterday’s biggest one-day gain ever in the Dow Jones Industrial Average. The Dow rose 499 points to close at 10-thousand-630. Jim Tausz (rhymes with house) works at the Bradford Financial Center in Clarion says he wouldn’t be surprised by a similar big bounce today. The Nasdaq also took a big jump yesterday, climbing 134 points to 47-17. The big day was spurred by government economic data showing little inflationary pressure on the economy.
