Linda Whitehead is the new head coach of the University of Northern Iowa’s new women’s soccer program. For the past four seasons, Whitehead has been head coach of the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, where she started the university’s women’s soccer program. The team will begin play this fall with a roster of up to 18 players. It will include a limited number of scholarships, transfers from other programs and members of the university’s “club team.” Whitehead says it’ll take awhile to build a winning program. The Panthers take on St. Ambrose in an exhibition game August 22nd.
