April 12, 2000 By admin

Jan Jensen will be joining Lisa Bluder at Iowa. The former Drake All-American spent the past eight seasons on the Bulldog staff and turned down an offer to replace Bluder as head coach. Jensen says being a head coach was never her ultimate goal and desire. She says she hopes to someday get her masters degree at the University of Iowa. Jensen says she doesn’t need to be a head coach to feel that she matters. She says she has great faith in Bluder and says Bluder would do well with or without her.Jensen says she felt the time was right for a new challenge at a different school. She says Drake has seen her grow up from a 17-year old player to a 31-year old coach.Jensen says Drake will have no trouble finding a quality coach.
