UNI center hopes to be snapped up in the draft

April 14, 2000 By admin

Northern Iowa’s history of sending players on to the National Football League should continue this weekend. Panther center Brad Meester will likely be the first Iowa college player selected. Meester is projected to be a third to fifth round pick and he says the success of other former U-N-I standouts should help his chances in the draft.Meester is not sure where he will be drafted despite all the predictions. Many N-F-L scouts feel Meester may be undersized, but he does not know where that came from.Meester says he has been working for this moment since the end of last season.
