College grads ready to take on the world

College students across Iowa are turning the tassel and picking up their sheepskins today. Katie Bock is delivering a commencement speech to her classmates today at Iowa State University. Bock is the Senior Class Council President and she sees a bright future ahead for graduates.State officials are trying to find ways to get graduates to stay in Iowa. Bock has already accepted a job in Minnesota and many of her peers will be leaving, too. She says it’s about a 50-50 split between the people leaving and those staying.She says it’s a matter of going where the jobs are.Luring people back to the state is the top priority of a plan being developed by the Governor’s Strategic Planning Council.
