River Bandits await autographed baseballs from President Clinton

May 8, 2000 By admin

The Quad City River Bandits baseball team is still waiting for President Clinton to come through in a swap of hats and autographed baseballs. The White House staff requested 60 River Bandits hats during the President’s visit to Davenport last week. In return, River Bandits President Kevin Krause asked for one dozen baseballs signed by President Clinton. So far, the White House has only sent back four signed balls. Krause says the White House staff are trying to downplay the exchange saying it’s no big deal and they don’t want it to be a negative story. Krause says he’d hoped to give the autographed baseballs to his staff to show appreciation for their hard work.
