New Maytag CEO faces stockholders

May 12, 2000 By admin

Maytag chairman Lloyd Ward presided over his first annual shareholders meeting in Newton on Thursday. The biggest question posed to Ward dealt with stock prices which rose to about 36-dollars a share last week. Stockholders want to see it back at the 70-dollar range. Ward would not comment about rumors to move the appliance giant’s headquarters from Newton, only saying the company is looking at the best way to run its operations.
