May 15, 2000 By admin

There are 30-million laying hens in Iowa which produce seven-billion eggs a year.Holly Sorge is spokeswoman for the Iowa Egg Council. She says May is National Egg Month. While Iowa is tops in egg processing, we’re second in egg production — but Sorge says that may not be so for long. She says many industry expects believe Iowa will become number one in the next few years.
