Body of Mason City woman found at Clear Lake

After three days of searching, the northern Iowa woman who died trying to save her son’s life has been found. Search crews at Clear Lake located the body of a missing Mason City woman late this morning. 32-year-old Jodene Broderick likely drown after she jumped out of a boat Sunday to save her four-year-old son. Cerro Gordo County Sheriff Larry Mason says finding the body will help family members deal with the loss.Mason issued a plea to all boaters to wear their life jackets. He says other drownings might be avoided if people would wear life jackets.
