May 16, 2000 By admin

Anyone who stops into a Casey’s General Store to pick up a snack or fill the gas tank can also pick up a free Iowa Travel Guide. The state Division of Tourism has teamed up with the Ankeny-based convenience store chain to distribute the guides.Tourism administrator Nancy Landess says the Casey’s chain has more than 330 locations where the guides will now be offered free. Tourist information is also available at the 23 Iowa Welcome Centers and elsewhere.Landess says the travel guides provide oodles of tourism information. In the guide, the state has been subdivided into ten focal sections.Iowa hosted 18-million travelers in 1998 who generated three-point-seven billion dollars. For more information, call 800-345-IOWA.
