Special Olympics summer games open tonight

The Iowa Special Olympics Summer Games open tonight in Ames. Special Olympics President Rich Fellingham says it marks their biggest event each year. He says they have 60 events around the state each year. There will be three thousand athletes participating in the summer games.Fellingham says the Iowa event is one of the largest in the country.Fellingham says tonight’s opening ceremonies will be held in Jack Trice Stadium and include fireworks, skydivers and special speakers.
