Iowa GOP chief addresses NRA

May 22, 2000 By admin

The chairman of the Iowa Republican Party was in Charlotte, North Carolina, this weekend, leading the “Second Amendment Celebration” staged by the National Rifle Association. Iowa G-O-P leader Kayne Robinson is first vice president of the gun rights group. Robinson said the Clinton/Gore Administration’s goal is to take guns away from law-abiding Americans. Robinson didn’t become N-R-A president this year. The group’s by-laws were changed so Charlton Heston could remain another year as the leading spokesman of the gun lobby. The N-R-A has about three-and-a-half million members.
