Newton-based Maytag is again the subject of rumors, this time focusing on the possible sale of the company to a Swedish appliance maker. Officials at Stockholm-based Electrolux have reportedly had talks with Maytag officials but neither company is revealing any details. Maytag had been in the news in recent months over rumors the company plans to move its headquarters out of Iowa.
