Twister delivers letter to mushroom hunter

May 24, 2000 By admin

A Farmersburg man who was hunting mushrooms near Monona this week found more than mushrooms. Kendall Beisker found a 35-year-old letter while hiking through the woods on his parents’ farm. The letter belonged to Polly Mills of rural Dunkerton, whose home was hit by a tornado two weeks ago. The letter was blown about 60 miles. Beisker says he got curious about the letter as the envelope carried an unusual five-cent stamp.
