Two injured in Perry explosion

May 24, 2000 By admin

Two men were seriously burned when a house in Perry was leveled by an early morning explosion. Witness say they heard a loud hiss, followed by a pop, then a boom which shook the windows in homes within a four block radius. Neighbors had complained about chemical smells coming from the home, as well as late night traffic in and out of the place. Authorities suspect it may have been a meth lab, but MidAmerican officials are on the scene to rule out a gas leak.
