Maytag to lay off workers

More than one-hundred workers at Newton-based Maytag Corporation will be out of work for an indefinite time. Maytag is laying off 121 production employees based on seniority on June 2nd, blaming slow washer sales. Employees say there was no warning until the notice was posted.
