One of only two certified marathon races in Iowa will run again on June 10th. The “Marathon to Marathon” begins in Storm Lake and finishes in the town of Marathon. It’s the fifth year for the event and spokeswoman Lois Lind says organizers did not know what to expect when the first race was held back in 1996. She says they off to a good start. Lind says last year the marathon attracted runners from 28-states and two foreign countries. This year so far they have entries from 24 states.Lind says the event serves as a qualifying race for the Boston Marathon. For the less serious runner, Lind says there is a marathon relay, a five-K race and — new this year — are events for kids.Lind says entries are being taken now or you can sign-up on site before the race begins.
