More than three thousand runners are expected to take part in the 21st annual Dam-to-Dam run in Des Moines Saturday. Spokesman John Leonhart says the 20-K race had two thousand competitors a year ago and ranks in the top five in the country at that distance.Leonhart says events like this are popular because they attract not only competitive runners, but recreational ones as well.Leonhart says the race begins at Saylorville Dam and finishes in downtown Des Moines. The event also includes a 5-K.
