It’s -not- considered a compliment to say something is as exciting as watching corn grow. Then again, thousands of people globally apparently -do- find that exciting. A website designed to teach about the various stages of corn growth is finding a lot of fans worldwide.Bob Davis is the Internet Manager of the Cedar Rapids-based “Iowa Farmer Today” magazine. He says the “corn cam” website gets up to 20-thousand visitors in one day. It offers continuous views of an Iowa cornfield and includes a catalogue of previous day’s views as well. He says it was originally designed for farmers.Davis says it’s more of an educational tool than entertainment. He says the site includes agronomy information too.The corn field belongs to Jim and Sharon Greif, who farm west of Monticello in eastern Iowa’s Jones County. To see the website and the corn, surf to www.iowafarmer.com and follow the “corn cam” link.
