Some roads are still closed in northeast Iowa after last week’s heavy rains brought on flooding. Bob Carrol is the foreman for secondary roads in Howard County. He says three roads in the county are still closed by water and a couple dozen are down to one lane traffic. Carrol says all the water has to subside before they can get an accurate damage estimate. But, he says he’s heard one figure of $300,000.Carrol says it could be early next week before they can make any repairs on the flooded roads. Winneshiek County officials say they have one road that remains closed by floodwaters.
