County home to close in Jasper County

June 7, 2000 By admin

The county home in Jasper County is closing. The Jasper County Supervisors voted unanimously to close the home where less than 50 nursing home and mentally retarded county residents live. The Supervisors say the facility, known as “Integrated Health Services,” would eventually close as the county is running out of funding. County officials are meeting today to discuss how to help the 140 employees who will be losing their jobs when Integrated Health Services closes.
