Parents appeal to state to break up Blemond-Klemme School District

June 8, 2000 By admin

A group of parents who failed in their initial attempt to break up the Belmond-Klemme School district are now appealing to the state. The group is appealing to the Iowa Department of Education. An administrative law judge will review the case to determine if the Education Department indeed has jurisdiction. If the judge says the Department has jurisdiction, a hearing will be set to let the parents have their say. The school board will also get to make its case during the hearing. The Belmond-Klemme Board is already on record opposing the break up.
