Ringgold County declares drought disaster

The Ringgold County Board of Supervisors has declared the county a drought disaster area. County Emergency Management Coordinator Merle Walter says it’s similar to declarations for storms and flooding.Walter says the disaster declaration will let the county get the help it needs to get through the drought.He says they need a lot of rain in the next ten days to two weeks to catch up.Walter urges Ringgold County residents to contact state and federal officials seeking economic relief from the drought.
