It’s said if you don’t learn from your mistakes, you’ll likely repeat them. A hearing today is for Iowa small business owners and farmers who think the federal government should learn from its mistakes.Cheryl Eftink is district director of the Iowa office of the Small Business Administration. She says the meeting is designed for any businessperson who thinks they were unfairly cited or fined by the IRS, EPA, OSHA, FDA, INS or other federal agency. Eftink says the meeting won’t be limited to people with complaints either. She says they’ll also take compliments. This Iowa hearing is one of eight being held across the U-S. Eftink says the panel hearing the discussion is called a Regulatory Enforcement Fairness Board. Most businesses with fewer than 500 employees are considered “small.” Information shared will be incorporated into a national report to Congress. The meeting runs from 1 to 4:30 p-m at the West Des Moines Marriott Hotel.
