The State Board of Regents is meeting in northwest Iowa today. Radio Iowa’s The group that governs the three state universities is meeting at the Lakeside Laboratory in Okoboji. The top item on the Board’s agenda is to approve the appointment of an interim president for Iowa State University in Ames. I-S-U Chemical Engineering Professor Richard Seagrave has been picked for the position pending the board’s approval. Seagrave would take over while the search is underway for a replacement for current president Martin Jischke. Jischke’s leaving to become president of Purdue University. Also on the agenda for the two-day meeting — the Regents will receive the preliminary operating budgets for I-S-U, the University of Iowa and the University of Northern Iowa.
