Website offers info for farmers

June 20, 2000 By admin

Tens of thousands of Iowa farmers who are on-line now have a new source for agricultural information. The Iowa Farm Bureau Federation has launched a website that provides a wealth of choices for one-stop Internet shopping.Farm Bureau spokesman David Lyons says the website contains weather data including Doppler radar, up-to-date stock and commodity market listings, along with information on farm safety, health, and compliance with federal regulations. He says the site is tailored for producers.Lyons says the Federation has 160-thousand Iowa members, about half of whom have computers in their homes. While Farm Bureau members have access to everything on the website, the general public can obtain many of the tidbits too at www.fbadvantage.com.
