Boy charged with attempted murder

June 21, 2000 By admin

Charges of attempted murder are filed against a ten-year-old boy in northwest Iowa. The Humboldt County Sheriff says Anthony Stephenson of Spirit Lake is charged with the felony. The boy’s foster mother, Jenny Zigrang of Thor, says she was pulling laundry out of the drier in her home, when the boy stabbed her in the back with a knife. As she was pulling the knife out, she claims the boy stabbed her with a second knife and ran away. Zigrang was released from the hospital Monday. The alleged incident took place Friday.
