June 22, 2000 By admin

Sioux City police are searching for a pickup truck that ran over and killed a young boy. Witnesses say five-year-old Anthony Evans was walking across the street with his mother, Michelle, on Tuesday when the truck swerved to miss the woman and hit the boy. He died Wednesday of head injuries.Sioux City Police Detective Jim Clark says they’ve narrowed down the type of truck being sought: it’s a four-door white dodge.Detective Clark says it’s a long process to go through vehicle registrations looking for a specific type of truck. He says they’re asking the public for help in narrowing the search.Witnesses say the truck stopped for a moment after running over the child, then sped away. It’s not known if the truck was damaged.
