Boy will face stabbing charge in adult court

June 30, 2000 By admin

The 10-year-old Spirit Lake boy accused of stabbing his foster mom will face charges in adult court.Prosecutors want to move the case against Anthony Stephenson out of Juvenile Court and into District Court. Humboldt County’s Attorney says there are noreasonable prospects for rehabilitating the kid if he stays in the Juvenile system, which would release him on his 18th birthday. The boy’s foster mother, Jenny Zigrang of Thor, says she was pulling laundry out of the drier in her home, when the boy stabbed her in the back with a knife. As she was pulling the knife out, she claims the boy stabbed her with a second knife and ran away.
