Many Iowa bookstores are planning for one of their biggest weekends of the year with the release of a new book about a young wizard in an alternate universe. It’s the fourth book in J-K Rowling’s series — and some advance copies of “Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire” have accidentally gotten out. Gayle Brubaker at Borders Books in West Des Moines says she’s under strict orders to keep the books literally locked up until they go on sale Saturday morning.The series of books follows the young magician and his friends at a school for sorcerers. Brubaker expects lines will begin forming outside the store before six a-m on Saturday. The doors open at seven. Brubaker says the popularity of this series is nearly overwhelming for the store.Brubaker says several hundred people have reserved copies of the book months in advance — long before the title was even released. Even though it’s more than 700-pages long, she predicts this will be “the” book of the year 2000, both for kids and adults.
