The largest phone company serving Iowa has changed its name. Denver-based Quest Communications has purchased U-S West, for about 44-Billion dollars. Quest communications director Tyler Gronbach says it means changes for the 750-thousand Iowans who’ve been U-S West customers. The U-S West name will remain on the bill, but it will also be identified as a Quest company. Then, in about three months, the U-S West name will be gone.Gronbach says Iowans should hear more about the merger soon in a media campaign. With the acquisition, Quest will have 25-million customers in a region, which stretches from Iowa to Washington State.
