Arson ruled out in Dubuque church fire

July 10, 2000 By admin

Dubuque’s Fire Marshall doesn’t know exactly what caused the fire that destroyed a Dubuque church, but he does NOT believe it was intentionally set.No one was hurt in the fire, which started at about 8:45 last Friday night. The church choir held a practice Friday evening, but left the building at about seven. Tests will be conducted over the next few weeks to try to learn the cause of the blaze, but the Dubuque Fire Marshall says it was NOT likely arson.
