Congressman Leonard Boswell applauds today’s resignation of Veterans Administration chief Togo West. Boswell, who is a Vietnam veteran, called for West’s resignation last year. Boswell says West didn’t fight hard enough for veterans in V-A hospitals, and Boswell says the out-going administrator mishandled the V-A budget.Boswell, who’s a democrat from Davis City, says West was letting veterans down.Boswell says the deputy V-A administrator has shown an ability to get things done, and Boswell suspects that’s who’ll replace West.
