Golf tourney ready for its new home

With a new home and an increased purse officials with the P-G-A tour’s John Deere Classic are excited about the future. The Classic will be played for the first time this month at the new T-P-C at Deere Run near the Quad Cities and the prize money has increased by about one million dollars in two years. Tournament Director Kym Hougham says the changes have provided the tournament with momentum.Hougham says the improvements have come at the right time when golf interest is high.Hougham says the tournament had a dry run at the new course when a number of touring pros played in an exhibition.The John Deere Classic is July 27th through the 30th.
